Safety During Storms

Have flashlights and a battery-powered radio on hand. Secure medications and a first aid kit. Get a supply of water for at least two weeks, and non-perishable food. Protect identification documents (passport, Social Security cards, driver’s licenses, birth certificates, insurance policies and any other important documents). Review your family emergency plan. Be attentive to the newsletters. During the event, stay inside your house or building, away from windows. Turn off power switches and unplug electronic equipment such as televisions and computers to protect them from potential power fluctuations. If there are downed cables and poles in your house or on the street, don’t touch them. You must assume that they are energized and can be dangerous.

Energy Theft

Energy theft affects us all. It is dangerous and illegal. If you know of someone stealing electricity or committing fraud, please report it confidentially by calling us at 1-844-888-5862 (LUMA). Help us fight it!
