Through this initiative, the company will provide donations to nonprofit organizations selected by participating municipalities
December 12, 2024 – Reaffirming its commitment to communities and nonprofit organizations, LUMA is proud to present the second edition of Illuminate Your Community, an initiative that promotes local tourism while fostering unity, collaboration, and the holiday spirit among municipalities and communities.
As part of this initiative, LUMA customers will have the opportunity to visit participating public plazas or communities and vote for their favorite holiday decorations. Voting will take place through an interactive map available on LUMA’s website, which will include photos of the decorations.
“This holiday season, it’s essential to remember that the true strength of our communities lies in collaboration and sharing. Illuminate Your Community is an invitation to support nonprofit organizations and make this season a time of hope and unity for everyone,” said Noriette Figueroa, LUMA’s Vice President of Customer Service.
Figueroa also encouraged citizens to participate actively in the initiative, which reinforces LUMA’s three key pillars of community support: Youth Education and Wellness, Economic Development, and Energy Stewardship.
If chosen as a winner, each municipality will select the nonprofit organization to receive the award. The municipality with the holiday decoration that earns the most votes will receive a donation for the previously designated organization, provided all requirements are met.
