Isla Verde , PR, January 26, 2024 – On Friday, over 1,500 people participated in LUMA’s Job Fair held in the Hotel Embassy Suites in Isla Verde. The goal of this job fair was to recruit professionals from a broad range of fields to support the company’s mission of transforming the electrical system of Puerto Rico. LUMA Human Resources employees, directors, and managers were available to meet candidates from across the island.
LUMA’s recruiting efforts are in response to the company’s growth and increase of ongoing reconstruction and modernization projects. “Beyond transforming the energy grid of Puerto Rico, we want to positively impact the economic growth and the quality of life of the people of Puerto Rico,” said Juan Saca, LUMA President and CEO. “We have over 4,500 employees who work hard every day and in every corner of Puerto Rico to serve our customers, and we want more Puerto Rican professionals to be part of these efforts,” added Mr. Saca.
For his part, Chief People Officer, Kenneth Fernández described the event, which sought candidates for positions in Finance, Information Systems, Project Management, Human Resources, Engineering, etc., as a “total success.” “We received over 1,500 people since early morning. We can certainly see the commitment of our people to join in the modernization of Puerto Rico’s electrical system,” said Mr. Fernández.
