San Juan, Puerto Rico, June 14, 2023 – Today, LUMA announced that Mr. Juan Saca has been
appointed as its new President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective July 1, 2023. Mr.
Saca, who previously served as a CEO in Puerto Rico for Open Mobile and, later, PR Wireless,

2020.
“It is an absolute privilege to join the LUMA team and I want to thank Wayne Stensby for his
leadership as I take on this important role. Having worked in Puerto Rico for almost a decade, I
know this is a special place and how crucial it is to each and every Puerto Rican to have access
to a modern and sustainable energy system. I look forward to spending my first weeks traveling
across the island, listening and engaging with our customers, stakeholders, and the LUMA
team. I sincerely believe that by being honest about the challenges and working collaboratively
to address them, we will build on the progress made thus far, and chart a path to LUMA and
Puerto Rico’s success,” said Juan Saca, incoming LUMA President and CEO.
Mr. Stensby, who is returning to ATCO as Chief Operating Officer of ATCO Energy Systems
based in Calgary, Alberta, will work with the entire LUMA leadership team to ensure a seamless
transition over the coming weeks.
“It has been an incredible honor to work in Puerto Rico, to serve our 1.5 million customers, and
to lead the over 3,000 men and women of LUMA over the past three years. Together, this
amazing team worked tirelessly to make lasting and measurable improvements to the electric
system here. I want to thank our customers for their many words of support throughout the
years and each member of the LUMA team for their commitment and dedication to our
customers. I also want to welcome Juan Saca to the LUMA family, I wish him all the best as he
leads LUMA toward a new and exciting era of progress,” said Wayne Stensby, outgoing LUMA
President and CEO.

replacing tens of thousands poles and streetlights, connecting more than 54,000 customers to
rooftop solar and improving customer service, the energy transformation is well-underway.
Now, we are excited to pass the torch to Juan Saca, whose vision, approach to leadership and
