The company managing the transmission and distribution system has collaborated with the American Red Cross for years to support the communities
November 11, 2024— Ivonne Gómez, LUMA’s Chief People Officer, was recently recognized as a member of the Board of Directors of the American Red Cross Puerto Rico Chapter. The appointment is part of LUMA’s ongoing commitment to non-profit organizations, contributing talent and expertise to impact communities in Puerto Rico positively. The recognition took place during the assembly held on November 1 at the Universidad Ana G. Méndez Gurabo Campus.
“Throughout my career, I have worked on designing and implementing strategies that promote the development of the workplace environment and the well-being of the communities we serve. I am happy and excited to collaborate with other colleagues and professionals to continue supporting disaster preparedness programs and assisting those affected on the island,” said Ivonne Gómez, Chief People Officer of LUMA.
Lee Vanessa Feliciano, Regional Executive of the American Red Cross Puerto Rico Chapter, stated, “With great enthusiasm and pleasure, we welcome Ms. Ivonne Gómez to our board of directors. We know that her contributions will be instrumental in strengthening our humanitarian mission, especially when more people are affected by disasters and need the support of our organization.”
During the same assembly, LUMA was recognized with the Good Neighbor award that the American Red Cross Puerto Rico Chapter gives for its outstanding work over the past three years. LUMA and the American Red Cross Puerto Rico Chapter have a collaborative agreement to continue educational efforts and support the most vulnerable communities during natural disasters and emergencies. This agreement is part of LUMA’s commitment to educating its customers about the risks associated with electricity and promoting safety across the island.
