San Juan, Puerto Rico, December 3, 2021 – As part of its six-month anniversary since assuming operation of Puerto Rico’s transmission and distribution system, LUMA is communicating directly with customers through a series of public communications detailing the progress made across multiple areas, including infrastructure repairs and upgrades, customer service and solar adoption.
Each of the public communications will help better inform LUMA’s 1.5 million customers of the scope of work and progress across multiple areas achieved by the over 3,000 hard-working LUMA men and women for all of Puerto Rico.
“While there is much more work to do, the LUMA team has accomplished a great deal in just six months. Given our responsibility to inform our customers, we are excited to share this progress and these milestones that reflect our sincere commitment to building a more reliable, more resilient, and cleaner electric system with our customers,” said LUMA Chief Executive Officer Wayne Stensby.

This anniversary customer update and communications effort has been and will be published beginning today December 3rd in a diverse series of local newspapers, shared with customers through emails and posted on social media beginning this week. The communications effort is highlighting key achievements as well as feature members of the LUMA team whose work is helping transform the Puerto Rican energy system.
